Hi!
My name is Mrs. Hildebrandt (she/her), and I have been an art teacher for both high school and middle school students for over a decade. While I was in school studying to become an art teacher, I had the pleasure of completing my secondary student teaching placement here, at NMS. When I started my teaching career, I taught some digital design courses and sculpture classes at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, CT. Eventually, I came back to Newtown Middle School, and have been here since. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education, a M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology, and am currently pursuing my 6th Year Certificate in Technology Integration. I love working with middle school students, there is never a dull day, and it's certainly filled with endless laughs!
I wear many hats here at NMS. I love being an art teacher, but I also serve as an advisor to our NJAHS - NMS Art Honor Society and our Yearbook Club. I am also the Unified Arts Coordinator, and a certified TEAM Mentor, which means I can help advise and coach student teachers, and new staff in our school.
I have a super cute, loving dog at home who has a personality all her own. My husband and I love taking Cheyenne on hikes, car rides and to the dog park. When I'm not spending time with my dog and husband, I enjoy cooking, baking, reading, and creating. I love traveling to Vermont, going on cruises, and the OBX when I have time, but a simple day trip to the beaches in Rhode Island always makes me happy!
Hi!
My name is Mrs. Ladue (she/her), and I have been working as an educator for over 10 years. My teaching career started right out of college, working as an Educational Instructor at a Therapeutic Day School Program in Trumbull, Connecticut. From there I went back to school to get my degree in Art Education as my life has always been on the creative path. My college career has earned me a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Art Therapy; Teaching certification in Art K-12 and a Masters in Gifted and Talented. All of which were amazing experiences which have given me a wealth of knowledge to assist me in making my middle school students successful.
So, my day job, Art Teacher Extraordinaire; my full time job is…….mom! I live with my two boys (Victor and Walter), and my husband. There is never a dull moment in my house with two growing boys and their active, energetic imagination.
Some things about me. I love to cook and bake for family and friends. I spend a lot of time outside, on a bike, snow shoes, sledding, swimming, and walking. Some hobbies of mine are of course, painting, drawing, crocheting, reading, hanging out with family and friends, watching HGTV and I am going to be honest……I watch Hallmark movies.
