Dear families,
As we transition into a new phase of home learning, we feel that students will benefit from the use of these free online resources to study from home. These are not resources associated with the 5th grade curriculum of Newton Public Schools. Rather, this is a collection of websites that could help facilitate some learning experiences from home.
If you have any questions on how to use these programs, feel free to reach out via e-mail.
Thank you,
Your 5th Grade Teachers

This free resource provides all students with 20 days’ worth of exciting learning journeys that span the content areas created by their editors to keep our students actively engaged in learning while school is closed. Our students will have access to approximately three hours of meaningful learning opportunities per day, including projects based on exciting articles and stories, virtual field trips, reading and geography challenges, and so much more.

Much like other things in life, with writing, PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS! In order to help students keep up their writing work, try working with these writing boards. Let's start with opinion writing and narrative writing: two methods we have studied. As time goes by, we will add more variety! Have fun writing!
