Mrs. Wong, formerly known as Ms. DeRito, was born and raised in Stamford and Ridgefield, Connecticut. She and her husband Peter have two children - Jaxon and Zoe. Mrs. Wong enjoys playing most sports, but swimming and running are her favorites. She is a New York sports fan (go Yankees!) but roots for the Patriots during football season. Mrs. Wong went to UMass Amherst for her undergraduate and graduate degrees in English and Elementary Education. Mrs. Wong has been teaching in Newton since September of 2010 and has spent most of that time as a fifth grade teacher. When she's not teaching, Mrs. Wong enjoys being active outside, spending time with her family and friends, and reading. Mrs. Wong enjoys the thoughtful questions, funny stories, and creative ideas that students bring to class.
