Media Equipment

Media Equipment Lending Procedures

  1. Items are lent on a first come first serve basis, and to students who have demonstrated a need for the item based on its relevant use in their IFP work. In the request made by students for media equipment, you are asked what item(s) you would like to borrow, the country that you are traveling to, and a brief description of how the item(s) will be used to support your IFP work. Once making the request, you will receive a confirmation email that their request has been received and whether or not it has been granted.

  2. If your request is granted you will need to set up an appointment to pick up the item(s) and sign the necessary contract(s). You may set this appointment by sending an email to ifp@newschool.edu. Please bring your New School ID to this appointment; it is the only form of ID accepted.

  3. You are fully responsible for all the equipment that you borrow from the International Field Program office. Please make sure that you check the items thoroughly before you sign the contract. No insurance is provided by the International Field Program, the Graduate Program in International Affairs, or the university.

  4. Item(s) must be returned in person, on the day that is written into the contract. There is a $5.00 a day late fee for all items. When the item(s) are returned an IFP staff member will look over the item to determine whether there are any damages or missing pieces. If the item(s) are found to be intact both you and the IFP staff will sign off on your contract. If the item is found to be damaged, pieces missing, or if an item itself is missing, you will be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement. You will be notified via email of the costs of repair or replacement. A hold will be put on your IFP grade until any payments due for damaged or missing items are made. Payments must be made to the International Field Program either by personal check, money order, or bank check.
