The Manufacturing Development Program has grown year over year both in students served and school partners. Through the MDP, applicants will be registered for a semester of formal education completing credits in electronics, robotics, mechanical systems, technical drawings and more. Our Interns will have an opportunity to take classes at Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill, Laney College, Oakland, or Ohlone College, Fremont.

Launch With Tesla through the MDP:
Complete a Semester, earn a Certificate of Achievement in Manufacturing Technologies.
Learn about electronics, robotics, programming, mechanical systems, and technical drawings and more.
The cost of the course is covered.
Full pay and benefits from day one, even while attending school.
After completion of the MDP certification:
Transition into a full-time Production Associate role in the Tesla Factory, Fremont, CA or the Megapack Factory, Lathrop, CA.
Work with the same equipment, techniques, and systems you learned about in the classroom.
Gain a helpful understanding and knowledge of the manufacturing process.
Learn the skills that will make you successful at Tesla or where you may find yourself.
Eligibility Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills & adapt to new work environments.
Comfortable learning new technology.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred prior to start of program.
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Must be at least 18 years of age before the end of the internship.
All potential employees will be required to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
Students must aim to complete the capstone project within 10 to 12 weeks.
Maximum mentoring time 12 hours
Schedule will be based on mutual day/time convenience and will be scheduled after the full tuition payment is received.
The start date can be anytime of the year, as long as the student has completed the prerequisites and is willing to put in the effort to work on this college-level project.
Must be ready to commit at least 10 hours per week.

The Newark Police Department Police Explorer Program is sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America and the City of Newark. This program provides all youth between the ages of 14 and 20 the opportunity to learn about the field of law enforcement. If you are between the ages of 21-24, you can gain the same valuable experience and knowledge through our Volunteer Cadet Program.
Explorers ride along with police officers, work in the office, and receive police related training to handle special jobs and assignments. They provide volunteer assistance, along with other Explorers in the Tri-City area, with the annual Newark Days Parade, Holy Ghost Festivities, and DUI checkpoints.
Explorers also participate in the annual San Diego County Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, which is designed to simulate an actual police academy. Participants receive formalized police training in various areas during the course of this eight day academy.
