Each year the NMHS PTSA awards $2,500 in scholarships to a graduating senior(s). To be eligible for a Senior Scholarship, students must meet the following prerequisites:
Graduate during the current school year
Be a member of the NMHS PTSA for at least the current school year
Complete and submit an application packet to the NMHS College & Career Center by January 31st. The packet should include the form, copy of your PTSA membership card, an essay and two references. (See form link below)
Scholarship recipients will be announced during Senior Awards Night in the Spring.

This year’s theme is “How optimism has paved my road to success.” The contest is open to all Newark, Fremont, and Union City students who are under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2024. The top 3 essays will receive cash prizes and the first place essay will advance to the District level competition and have an opportunity to win a $2,500 college scholarship. All essays are due January 19, 2025 by midnight.
The Washington Hospital Service League offers:
• Two four-year scholarships totaling $4000 each ($1000 per year), renewable annually for students in health-related programs with a GPA of 3.0+.
• A one-time $1000 scholarship for a qualified Washington Hospital volunteer. Additional Information
• Only the first 15 complete applications will be accepted.
• Applicants must ensure all materials are submitted by April 1st.
• Interviews for eligible candidates will be held in early May. Recipients will be notified of an award in late May.
• Upon verification of enrollment, a check will be sent to the Financial Aid office of the recipient’s school.

The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation is pleased to announce that its scholarship program, Tzu Chi Scholars 2025, is now accepting applications. All the high school graduating seniors are encouraged to apply. Tzu Chi Scholars are selected on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. This is a nationwide program and each scholar will be awarded a total of $1,500.

Kiwanis Club of Fremont Foundation’s Turn-Around Scholarship Program. As in previous years, individual $1,500 scholarships will be awarded this year to qualifying students for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Completed nominations/applications are due back by Friday, February 21.
