Common District End of Unit Assessments created by your district content specialist teams and when possible reviewed by campus leaders and teacher teams.
The purpose of DEUAs for teachers is to:
Identify students needing Tier 2 support
Provide quality assessments with appropriate supports built-in and at the appropriate rigor level
Support the establishment of a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum for students who change teachers or move from one campus to another throughout the district
Therefore, DEUAs are required for the 2025-2026 school year and will be administered as is during the specific testing window (noted on each DEUA pdf - linked to each IPG).
One additional week will be provided for scoring purposes. It is recommended to administer the test prior to the grading window and that it is used for scoring items such as constructed responses and text entry questions. (However, the system will allow additional testing during the "grading" window)
Posted in the IPG under Stage 2 & In Eduphoria Aware under Administer in the Assessments section.
At the start of the instructional unit, you can access the student preview link on the teacher's copy of the DEUA. Reference the link on the top right side of the test cover page (in Stage 2 of the IPG).
During the testing and scoring window, you can access the student preview link in Eduphoria Aware under the Administer section by selecting the three dots next to the assessment title and choosing Preview Online Test.
Teacher copies are provided in Stage 2 of the IPG.
Option 1 (Online Option - Highly Recommended): Student's "My Test History"
Option 2 (Print Option): Print the test booklet and make a copy of that specific question for students to review
DEUA's are designed for:
teachers to work with the data in their collaborative teams to make informed decisions about instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
leadership teams to review the data in their collaborative teams to make informed campus decisions about instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
district content teams to review the data in their collaborative teams to make informed district decisions about curriculum, planning, and campus support.
Campuses that have defined essential standards or intervention topics that are not adequately assessed by this DEUA, may create an additional part/layer to the DEUA that will be administered separately in Aware (preferably on the same day). Please take into consideration the length of the DEUA when creating your additional assessment. You may use the summarize scores option in Quick Views in Aware to combine the scores after students have completed both parts of the assessment.
If a student receives modifications in their IEP, they are still required to take the DEUA as is with appropriate online supports enabled; however, this data will only be used as a check on where the student is at with their mastery of grade level TEKS. If all supports mentioned in the student's IEP can not be provided, it should not be taken for a grade. For more information about Special Education Assessment Practices contact your campus Special Education coordinator.
No, online accommodations are already included in all DEUA's - they must be enabled for qualifying students
DEUAs are not recommended for a grade as is...
District end-of-unit assessments should only be used for a grade when the teacher can ensure that the content was taught with sufficient depth and complexity as to afford a reasonable opportunity for success. Ultimately, this is a campus decision.
For teams or teachers who need to request a testing and/or scoring window be reopen, please complete the Request to Reopen Google Form. Your campus leaders will be informed of the request and you will receive an email with next steps. These requests should be submitted within two days of the end of the grading window. Requests submitted prior to this will be denied.
(Panda will not be able to record/remember requests given more than two days prior to the end of the window - remember, we are managing all assessments for all grades for all content areas)
