Welcome to our Data Analysis and Protocol Page. This page has been established to help teachers and administrators use Eduphoria Aware to look at district assessment data, other assessment data, and engage one another in meaningful discussions around the data. This same protocol can be followed after each common assessment.
Effective teaching decisions are based on information about what students already know and what they need to learn next. That means that effective teachers use a variety of data to inform their instructional decisions for individual students and for the whole class. This data-informed decision making is particularly important for students who are not making expected progress toward grade level objectives.
This Assessment-Instructional Cycle represents the steps in this data-informed decision-making process. Teachers engage in these steps individually and in teams.
🤔 Notes about these summative assessments to keep in mind:
STAAR Interim - this is an adaptive assessment that gives the probability that a student will be at each performance level. If the student has at least 50% chance at being Masters - they call them masters. This expects the student to continue learning and could inflate the scores a little.
STAAR Released - these district assessment included the whole assessment and is scored at the end of year performance levels they provided last year.
These notes could effect performance and growth.
There are limits to the data analysis by standard that should be done on a STAAR Released or STAAR Interim assessment. You would probably want to use additional data points to determine the strengths and weaknesses for any student.
For DEUA/STAAR Released (in Aware),
For tests given in Aware, check out the online testing details quick view to monitor the usage of online supports provided.
Follow the protocol linked for data analysis and reach out to your content specialists for guidance. For those who tested in Aware, don't forget about Single Test analysis.
For whichever assessment, STAAR Released in Aware or STAAR Interim, those tests/grades with growth, choose a template below to create growth matrix and analyze the results.
What about growth?
Whether your campus chose to give STAAR Interim or the STAAR released. You can determine if your students met their growth goal by selecting one of the following templates. The same template can be used on any local assessment including DEUA or campus tests.

Once you have your data in a growth template, you can view this refresher on how to read the matrix or better yet, watch this video that will walk you through how to read your data whether you used the Power BI template or the Aware Data template.
Use the guiding questions below to reflect on the matrix and think about next steps.
Growth Guiding Questions
You will need to complete a growth matrix (choose one above) to complete this section.

Spring Summative Data Adjustment
Teachers and/or leaders can use this tool for their Spring Summative (STAAR Released) to remove questions from their data to get an adjusted score for each student.
