The My Favorite Things project results in an animated video about... guess what... your favorite things! It will take several weeks and we'll need to learn some basics about computers, files and software along the way. If you haven't seen any of the ones from last year, make sure and check out the 2022 Portfolios page and browse work from last year. The following 10 things are the most important ones to know about the steps in this project:
Create a project folder with a specific name where you will save a Word document
Writing an outline listing three categories of things you like and three things in each category.
Set up advanced Google image search parameters for locating high resolution pictures
Practice finding, saving and documenting where each of the images came from
Using Photoshop to make improvements to the images that need them
Use Photoshop to make text titles with customized effects
Use the the images and titles to animate a video using keyframes
Add the image addresses at the end in the form of scrolling credits
Add captions for each picture based on what you wrote in your essay
Export your video for viewing on your digital portfolio!

Adobe's AI Firefly
If you turn in a snip of a complete image collection, you may be excited to try Adobe's tool for using artificial intelligence (AI) to make images from text prompts. I am using Firefly to make the Week # headers you see on this website, and it would be really awesome if the rest of the weeks were created by students. Watch this video to participate, and watch for a way to submit your creations. We truly are at an incredible turning point in history with regard to how we use computers to generate media right now. This year. This month, even! Firefly was released in Beta just after the beginning of this school year!
Using Photoshop on Firefly
The Firefly headers are not ready to show on DATAtech.studio - they need a few blending options to really make them look their best.
