A recognized trailblazer, NEC's Community Performances and Partnerships Program is one of the premier programs in the nation for engaging conservatory students with their community through robust, meaningful partnership activities and high quality training.
CPP interacts annually with close to 15,000 people through over 600 events that reach across ages, neighborhoods, ethnicities, and economic disparities in the city of Boston and beyond.
CPP simultaneously provides NEC students with a crucial opportunity to explore what it means to be a musician living in and contributing to community life, within an atmosphere of supportive mentoring, professional development, and experiential learning.

In an effort to promote ongoing relationships within the Boston community, NEC has developed many partnerships with civic, social service and arts organizations. Through these partnerships, NEC students perform multiple programs throughout the year in order to develop long-term relationships. Our community partners range from nursing homes, homeless shelters and libraries to Boston Public Schools, YMCA Youth programs and community centers in underserved neighborhoods. Many of our partnering organizations are located in the vicinity of NEC, allowing for true “good neighbor” relationships to develop. NEC students frequently perform in:
Schools
Preschools/Daycare Centers
Senior Care Facilities
Hospitals
Community Centers
Homeless Shelters
Museums
Libraries
Historic Landmarks
Partnerships are designed collaboratively with the mutual needs of NEC students and partnering organization in mind.
The CPP offices are located in SB 200 on the second floor of the St. Botolph building.
