Add language to Catalog for Music Ed stating that Instrumental Majors must also take Vocal Minor; Vocal Majors must also take Instrumental Minor (current wording stating that music majors may not declare a music minor could be problematic per R&R)
Music Minor: The music minor may not be declared or obtained by students pursuing music majors.
Music Ed-Instrumental Major: The Instrumental Music Education Major requires the Vocal Music Education minor to simplify licensure in Minnesota.
Music Ed-Vocal Major: The Vocal Music Education Major requires the Instrumental Music Education minor to simplify licensure in Minnesota.
Major: Inst Ed Ensembles are semesters, not credits.
The Instrumental Music Education minor does not count the same courses toward the ensemble requirement as the Vocal Music Ed major does.
Minor: Vocal Ed: Remove MUSC 162 and 163 from the Vocal Ed Minor and replace with MUSC 349
Remove Prereq of 250 for 352
Major: Inst Ed: Remove "Applied Voice" section that makes no sense
Add language to BM degrees about Piano Proficiency
Remove Prereq language of C or better from Theory Curriculum.
Remove MUSC 108 & 109 from BS-Vocal?
These were added when we created the BS-Vocal last year, and requires students to take these courses as Gen Eds (Cultural Diversity and Global Perspectives). I think this goes against the spirit of the BS degree.
