Are you thinking about beginning the project in the summer?
Are you thinking about beginning the project in the summer?
- Working on the personal project during the summer prior to the sophomore year is NOT required. The majority of students work between August and February of the sophomore year.
- Some students do work on the project during the summer because the topic is season-specific (learn to waterski) or they have the opportunity (summer travel; extra time to build a motor).
- Should you work on the project during the summer months?
- There is no correct answer to this. It is a personal decision.
- Talk with your parents. You will need their support in keeping you on task and adhering to the requirements.
- Completing this project during your freshman year is not allowed. The guidelines do require the work to take place during the sophomore year. Students may begin as early as mid-June.

Students may work on all or part of the project during the summer months by following the schedule and completing work posted to PowerSchool. The course will still appear as a fall course on the schedule, and students will present at the exhibition in January.
