Association of Horizon Summer Camp Application
Association of Horizon is a non-profit that provides a summer camp for adults with physical disabilities. Under the supervision of experienced camp leadership, volunteers are paired with an adult with a physical disability to spend the week together partaking in activities such as swimming, hiking, and canoeing, among others. The camp is 7 days and 6 nights at a beautiful and wheelchair accessible campground outside of Bloomington, IL and is provided free-of-cost to all our campers and volunteers.
We are actively recruiting Peers age 14+ to be paired 1-1, and are in particular need of male-identifying peers. PALS Chicago: July 27–August 2 at Elmhurst University. Any interested student can complete an interest form found HERE and they will be the first to receive our application when it launches on January 1st at 9am EST. While impactful on young adults, PALS is also FREE for volunteers to join. We encourage you to share this video with your community.

Camp SOAR is an overnight camp for children ages 7-19 with intellectual & physical disabilities. All of our campers are paired with a one-on-one counselor throughout their week at SOAR. Our counselors are mostly high school and college aged students and have an interest in the field of special education and service leadership, and we offer up to 144 service hours per week of volunteering.

FORA serves a large Afghan, Syrian, and Rohingya population. Although our families have faced extreme persecution and oppression, they are the most resilient of learners.
From June 23rd - August 15th we have tutoring sessions Mon-Fri mornings where volunteer tutors connect with students for two hours, tutoring in reading and math. The only requirement for our volunteers is a 4 hour/ week commitment! This usually means volunteers come in two days a week.
