This photo collection depicts the adventures from the first half of my Japan-Singapore academic exchange. After a rough travel experience, which entailed an impromptu trip to Alaska, I safely arrived in Hiroshima where I spent time with Miyu (photo 1), my exchange student and attended Notre Dame Seishin, a sister school in Japan, where I met many other students. Following this, we traveled East to Kyoto and experienced dense bamboo forests, traditional kimono wearing, and gorgeous temples. Some of the images in this collection show the rich history of Japan along with the tragedy that accompanied the Atomic Bomb.
This collection of pictures shows my experience of Singapore and Malaysia. While shadowing an exchange student Vanessa (photo 2) at St. Nicholas' Girls School, I was able to be truly immersed in school life in Singapore. Through adventures in street markets, with amazing murals plastered accorss the walls as far as eyes could see, and my finding new favorite foods (such as the delicious dragon fruit I bought everytime I could), I connected with the Singaporean culture and thus the Japan-Singapore exchange program was life changing for me.
This collection of photos shows some of the beautiful nature and architecture in Ireland (Cork, Kilkee, Cliffs of Moher, etc). Although it may have been a chilly December, the gorgeous landscapes in Ireland were striking.
This short collection is of the murals in Belfast, Northern Ireland. the political history and turmoil the area fueled feuds and portrayal of history through art.
This collection consists of a random stils of my travels. Through trips to visit family friends in England or a heritage experience in Ireland, I was able to experience many new cultures. Luckily, during these trips, I had access to a camera (which I did not have when I was younger) so I can treasure my experiences in the years to come.
