I hosten Junxuan at Notre Dame and we bonded over the similarities and differences in our schools and cultures. Though "design thinking" challenges to create a backpack tailored to our generation, we worked on our communication and ended up creating fantastic ideas, all due to our innovation and cultural connections.
When Kelly and Peggy visite from Taiwan, they had a rather strange experience of Notre Dame. Since they came the day of prom (for juniors and seniors), also known as sophomore takeover day, they danced, sang, and ate candy alongside my classmates and I. Although we also attended traditional classes, I was able to show Kelly and Peggy an untraditional day at NDA.
Over a weekend in March, I was fortunate enough to host Miyu, the same exchange student who I stayed with in Hiroshima, at my house. We bonded and had an amazing time at school, at home, and i various tourist attractions in Pennsylvania. My favorite memory of the week was the shock on her face when I ate my breakfast sandwich in the car on the way to school (which she had never done before. In this picture, I am wearing traditional clothing that Miyu graciously brought with her on her trip across the world!
