The Mujeres en Medicina (MEM) section of LMSA PLUS celebrates and empowers women in the medical field, particularly those from Latino and underrepresented backgrounds. This initiative fosters a supportive community where aspiring female physicians, healthcare professionals, and students can connect, share resources, and inspire one another. Through mentorship, networking opportunities, and events designed to address the unique challenges faced by women in medicine, MEM strives to cultivate leadership, resilience, and advocacy. We are committed to increasing the representation of Latina women in medicine and creating spaces where they can thrive, innovate, and lead.
MEM Premedical & Medical Panel:
Join us for our first MEM event, an insightful event featuring a dynamic panel of four undergraduate students and two Notre Dame alumnae currently navigating their medical journeys. This panel will provide a unique perspective on the challenges and triumphs of pursuing a career in medicine, particularly for women from underrepresented backgrounds. Our panelists will share their experiences, offering advice on everything from the premed track to medical school, discussing strategies for balancing academics, self-care, and advocacy, and answering your questions about navigating the medical field as a Latina.Â
