About

Managerial Economics is an intermediate microeconomics class, required for all business majors in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Most students enroll during their junior year but some enter as sophomores with AP credit.

Students are required to have knowledge of statistics and calculus as they are used extensively. Classroom time is 75 minutes, twice a week for 15 weeks, with class sizes averaging 38 students.

The primary reason for introducing active learning components into my curriculum was to engage students from a wide variety of academic disciplines who would not likely continue their training in economics. Although I emphasize the theoretical underpinnings of our material, my goal for business school students is to leave the classroom with a strong understanding of application.

This website was constructed for the purpose of helping other instructors engage with their students in a more dynamic way. Working with a blank canvas is often the most paralyzing part of the process, I hope this site helps to relieve that paralysis.

Most of the material compiled was developed from existing resources. I have included a works cited page for those looking to dive deeper.
