Years ago, I was sure I wanted to become a plant breeder and serve my community through the production of novel crop varieties with improved characteristics. However, as I progressed through my undergraduate coursework, I found that my passion for science extended far beyond agricultural applications. Instead, I found that what I really desire in a career is the ability to improve the current state of humanity through biotechnology.
Whether my eventual career placement is in project management, regulatory, consulting, biomanufacturing, or other roles within the biosciences, I know my passion revolves around working as a team to achieve a common goal. I see myself as a leader, a communicator, and a team-player who always prioritizes the interests of the group above oneself. My goal is to use the knowledge and hands-on experience that I gain as a part of NCSU’s MMB program to continue developing into a well-rounded professional who is capable of creating excellent solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues.
