Jaycee Community Center SL Group Fall 2017

Group Members: Trey Faddis, Amanda Kohl, Colin Kinney, Jordan Diard, Emily Fletcher, and Cashie Naylor

Supervisors: Dan Bacon (Jaycee Community Center Director) and Amy Hayden (Assistant Director)

Introduction:

Our PRT 358 group was given the opportunity to work with Jaycee Community Center to design, plan and implement two programs for the surrounding community. Our group put on an agroecology field trip for track out students and a popcorn and pajamas movie night for families. This opportunity allowed our group to have hands-on experience in our field of study while also working to build a greater connection between Jaycee Community Center and the surrounding area. Our team was lead by Dan Bacon and Amy Hayden and through them we learned critical-thinking, teamwork, and planning skills that we can carry on throughout our careers. While our future career goals may be diverse, the practical, real-world skills we learned this semester will take us far no matter the industry.
