Fresh market cucumber and strawberry production in North Carolina ranks fourth in the nation, followed by peanuts and upland cotton at fifth in the nation.

-Mount Mitchell is the tallest point in North Carolina, rising to 6684 ft which is also the tallest point east of the Mississippi River

• How much money does North Carolina’s agriculture industry produce every year? Hint: It’s in the billions

-North Carolina’s agriculture industry, including food, fiber and forestry, contributes over $84 billion annually to the state’s economy

• State Bird: Cardinal (The Northern Cardinal is the state bird of seven states, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia, which is more than any other bird.)
• State Tree: Pine (Evergreen which means they don’t shed their leaves in the winter so they are green year round)
• State Insect: Honey Bee (Honey bees' wings stroke 11,400 times per minute, thus making their distinctive buzz.)
• State Beverage: Milk (California is the top state in the United States for milk production and accounts for 1/5 of the U.S. milk production)(21 out of the 28 states with a state beverage chose milk; California’s is wine)

Animal Sounds Game

1. Make sure there are the correct number of animal pairs in the hat(bag, whatever)
2. Everyone takes a slip of paper from the hat that will have the name of an animal on it
3. Don’t tell anyone which animal you drew out of the hat
4. Once you have your slip of paper, quietly move somewhere random in the space at least an arm's length from the nearest person
5. Once you are in position, close your eyes(or blindfolds?) and when you hear “GO!” start making your animal noise while listening for someone else making the same noise
6. When you find your animal pair you can open your eyes(remove blindfold) and move to the side while everyone else finds their pair.
