Her favorite thing about evaluation is that it can create an environmental for connection and understanding. These relationship aspects of evaluation bring clarity, shared purpose, and transformative potential.

Steven Braun

Charlotte Clark

Charlotte (Char) is an associate professor at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment. She has been working on a national effort in culturally responsive and equitable evaluation in environmental education since 2017, and has unexpectedly found a new passion here! She is learning so much from the team, practitioners in the field, and wonderful mentors.

Jean Kayira

Jean is faculty at Antioch University New England. She has a strong commitment to and passion for socio-ecological justice issues, community-based education, and collaborative inquiry. In engaging with these concerns, her work has focused on education as a sociocultural and critical practice, with an additional focus on epistemological and methodological issues of qualitative research. These foci draw on the practice of anti-oppressive education, social and cultural theory, postcolonial theory, and empirical research which engages directly with educators as well as students.

Libby McCann

Libby is faculty and director of environmental education within Antioch University New England's Department of Environmental Studies. She's deeply curious and inspired by the social change that's possible when evaluation centers equity, community, connection, and culture.

NAAEE

The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) serves as a major convener of the EE community. We are partnered with Judy Braus, Esther Cowles, Mary Ocwieja, T'Noya Thompson and many other amazing folks at NAAEE to partner with us in thought, share out lessons learned, and broaden the network this project seeks to build.

Kathryn Stevenson

Kathryn is an associate professor at NC State University. Her research and teaching focus on environmental education, and some of her favorite work involves evaluation capacity building within the EE community in her home state of North Carolina. She is grateful to be on this team, supporting the EE community that raised her personally and professionally, and learning alongside new and old friends in the field.

Talatha Kiazolu-Reeves

Talatha is a PhD student at Antioch University New England with over 20 year of experience in nonprofits.

Kelsey Tayne

Kelsey is a post-doctoral researcher at NC State University. Her research and teaching goals are to support youth action towards more sustainable and just futures. She is excited to have recently joined this team and be part of a community with the shared goal of supporting culturally responsive and equitable evaluation in EE.
