Curious about what leadership involves? Here are a few testimonials from current ChemE students:
Being the VP of AIChE was an extremely enriching experience for any ChemE. As a VP you will be significantly more involved than as a member, and will get to own a set of responsibilities that keep the organization functioning.
While this does come with a substantial time commitment, you will also have the chance to connect further with classmates, industry partners, and other organization chapters all over the world while developing real-world leadership skills. I could not recommend the experience more!
As Secretary, also known as Vice President of Records, for AIChE, I have the privilege of working alongside a dedicated and motivated group of students. In this role, I prepare and distribute a weekly newsletter to keep members informed about upcoming events and opportunities. I am also responsible for maintaining the organization of our email communications and shared drive, as well as recording and organizing notes during meetings. This role requires a relatively low time commitment and is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership experience, particularly for individuals with strong organizational skills.
