To clear your hold, your steps depend on your year in the program:
Engineering First Year / New Transfer Student: Meet with me for an advising appointment
Sophomore (enrolled in CHE 205/225): Attend a Group Advising Session (more info coming soon)
Junior/Senior (enrolled in 300+ level course): Submit a course plan for review OR meet with me for an advising appointment
Your hold will not be removed automatically - you need to take action!
If you're having trouble with a course, don't wait!
Visit office hours - your professors want to help!
Check out tutoring resources like the Academic Success Center.
Consider a pass/fail or withdrawal (but talk to me first - this may impact your graduation timeline).
Form a study group - learning with others can help you stay motivated!
Check your enrollment date in MyPack Portal.
Plan your schedule using your Degree Audit & Pack Planner.
Use the Enrollment Wizard in MyPack to add classes.
Check for prerequisites & restrictions (some classes require departmental approval).
Enroll as soon as your window opens - classes fill up quickly!

If a course is full, try these steps:
Join the waitlist (if available).
Use the Swap to Waitlist feature if you are already enrolled in a section and want to join the waitlist for your preferred section.
If you do NOT do this, when MyPack goes to take you off the waitlist, it will see you are already in the course and not enroll you in the preferred section.
Check MyPack daily for openings - students drop courses all the time!
Find an alternative section or course that fits your schedule.
Request an override (only if necessary - CHE courses have strict prerequisites)
Override Request Links for Other Departments:
Yes, but you need approval. You may request an overload if:
You have a GPA of 3.0+.
You have successfuly handled a full course load before.
You can demonstrate a strong reason for needing extra credits.
Overloads are not automatically granted - let's talk before you submit a request!
Steps to CODA:
Complete the required CODA Success Courses with strong grades.
Check your GPA and eligibility for the upcoming cycle.
Submit your CODA application in MyPack Portal before the deadline.
Wait for your admission decision (typically a few weeks after the deadline).
Don't panic! Here's what you can do:
Meet with me to discuss alternatives, including reapplying next cycle.
Consider related engineering disciplines that align with your interests.
Strengthen your application by improving grades and gaining experience.
Explore minors or certificates that support your career goals.
Check Transfer Credit Equivalencies to see if your course transfers
If not listed, request pre-approval from the NC State department before enrolling.
After completing the course, send an official transcript to NC State Undergraduate Admissions.
Verify that your credit has been applied in MyPack Portal.
