FFA Degrees give students the opportunity to be recognized for their hardwork and dedication to Agricultural Education. Each degree level builds on the previous degree. Start working on your Greenhand Degree during the fall semester of your junior year, and build up!
Students qualify for the Greenhand Degree after completing the following tasks.
Planned and implemented one Foundational SAE
Attended one FFA chapter meeting
Completed or are within one month of completing one marking period of Agriscience
Demonstrated an understanding of the history of FFA, the FFA creed, and the FFA motto
Submitted an application for the degree
Students qualify for the Chapter Degree after completing the following tasks.
Planned and implemented two Foundational SAEs
Completed or are within one month of completing one semester of Agriscience
Received the FFA Greenhand Degree
Served on an FFA Committee
Given a speech
Submitted an application for the degree
Students qualify for the Outstanding Junior after completing the following tasks.
Completed one semester of Agriscience
Participated in at least one FFA activity above the chapter level
Received the FFA Chapter Degree
Submitted an application for the degree
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in high school
Implemented an Immersion SAE and earned at least $500 or completed 150 hours in your SAE since starting agriscience
Completed at least 10 hours of Community Service
This application is completed in AET. Due in December.
Students qualify for the State Degree after completing the following tasks.
Received the FFA Chapter Degree
Completed at least three semesters of Agriscience
Participated in at least five FFA activities above the chapter level
Implemented an Immersion SAE
Earned or productively invested at least $2000 -or-
Have at least 562 unpaid hours -or-
A combination of those two
Completed at least 25 hours of community service
Note: You do NOT have to earn the Outstanding Junior to earn the State Degree
This application is completed in AET. Due in December.
Students qualify for the American Degree after completing the following tasks.
Received the FFA State Degree
Completed two years of Agriscience in high school
Have graduated high school at least two years prior to the National Convention where their degree will be bestowed.
Earned and productively invested $7500 or have earned and productively invested $2000 and worked 2,250 hours
