Foundational Skills teaches diverse skills needed for employment on agricultural operations. Topics include tractor driving and maintenance, tool use, and other basic maintenance skills.

Wednesdays are going to focus on FFA and SAE. Activities include leadership and skills contests, SAEs, record keeping, and FFA meetings.

The Food Science course aligns with FS 101 at Muskegon Community College, a required course for all MSU/MCC Institute of Agricultural Technology programs. Students will explore food science and food processing topics such as food chemistry, cooking methods, preservation, and more. At the completion of the course, students will earn 3 credits to Muskegon Community College.

2 days/week (Tuesday/Thursday) - Fall Semester
The goal of this course is to develop students' understanding of research methods. Students will take a step-by-step approach to plan and implement research techniques to conduct their own research project. Projects will be presented at the Michigan State University Arthur Berkey Agriscience Fair.

The natural resources lab will introduce students to a variety of topics in natural resources such as water quality, forestry, wildlife, and invasive species.

The aim of this course is to build on animal science topics taught during the first year curriculum in Agriscience. A significant portion of the program will be veterinary science.

The agronomy class will give students the opportunity to explore advanced plant science topics. Students will learn about field crops, specialty crops, plant nutrition, anatomy and physiology, and more.
Online, Self-Directed
This course is for students who may ultimately own or manage a small business. The course includes the creation of a business plan, marketing, financial management, and entrepreneurial opportunities. (1 credit through West Shore)
This training provides you with the knowledge needed to take the state Pesticide Applicator's LIcense. Students who are 18 years old or older can choose to take the test after completing the training.
