Act 20 Reading Training Compliance
In accordance with 2023 Wisconsin Act 20, beginning July 1, 2025, all teachers assigned to provide reading instruction in grades 4K–3 will enroll in a reading training program approved by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI).
All 4K–3rd instructional staff — including general education teachers, special education teachers, English Language teachers, administrators, and interventionists — have completed the Keys to Beginning Reading training. This program included 11 modules addressing foundational literacy skills and required more than 40 hours of professional learning through online and in-person instruction.
