The Middle School Choral Section of NCMEA seeks to celebrate middle school choral programs that provide high-quality choral experiences inside and outside of the classroom. The purpose of the Choral Recognition Program is to strengthen advocacy for choral programs in schools and districts across the state and to provide a framework for building sustainable, robust choral programs in North Carolina, engaging administrators and arts coordinators as partners in supporting excellence in the arts.
Exceptional achievement, leadership, and sustained excellence.
Maintains high standards, strong student engagement, and community involvement.
Building strong foundations, showing growth, and expanding opportunities.
Directors will work to gather evidence throughout the year that demonstrates achievement toward program goals. Points are earned through participation, performance, and professional development.
The NC Middle School Choral Section of NCMEA uses its own set of performance and growth indicators designed to support musical excellence and student development.
These indicators are not intended for use in any formal teacher evaluation process.
The purpose of this program’s evaluations is to encourage growth, celebrate achievement, and guide continued artistic development for both students and ensembles. All feedback is supportive and instructional in nature, meant to enhance the overall success of the choral program and its participants.
Verification of points will be submitted by June 1st to be reviewed by the MS Choral Executive Board.
Teachers will receive confirmation of recognition by August 1st of the following school year.
Verification form and supporting documents should be sent to ncmiddlehonorschorus@gmail.com as ONE PDF file.
