N.C.S.D. Instructional Technology WebsiteIf you have a G Suite for Education account and your school type is Primary/Secondary education (K-12, NCSD), you'll not be allowed to join Google Meet video calls created by non-G Suite, or personal, Google Accounts.
Anonymous users, or users not signed in to a Google Account, will not be able to join meetings organized by G Suite for Education users. However, parents/guardians can:
Create a personal Google account
Use their student's credentials (login)
Dial in using a phone.
Meet works with the current version of the browsers listed below:
Chrome Browser (download the latest version)
Mozilla® Firefox® (download the latest version)
Microsoft® Edge® (download the latest version)
Apple® Safari® (download the latest version)
Meet has limited support in Microsoft Internet Explorer® 11, Microsoft Edge provides a better Meet experience. If you want to use Internet Explorer for Google Meet, you need to install a plugin for Meet. Download and install the latest version of the Google Video Support plugin.
You can now see more of your students by changing the layout to Tiled and using the scrolling bar to select the number of people.
You can now disable the ability of others to share their screens and/or send messages in the chat.

For parents and guardians (feel free to send to them)
Send to parents/students.
Some folks have reported that if you don’t “hang up” and just wait for them to rejoin, there might be difficulties with students rejoining. If this is the case, hang up and rejoin your meeting.
If you are wanting to play video/audio that is NOT embedded in a document, when you go to Present Now in your Google Meet...
make sure you are choosing the CHROME TAB option (out of the 3 options) and select the tab where the video will be playing. This will allow for the system audio to play for participants.

You can change the Meet code in Classroom.
Go to settings/cog wheel.
Scroll down to Meet. There will be a pull down menu where you can click Reset.
Be sure to click Save at the top right corner before you leave the Settings page.
We will have staff available for training and support. Please keep a close eye on communication from your principal/s and your email.
Calendar events can be rejoined and without a staff member in the Meeting.
Thus, consider when using a Calendar invitation and keep them Private.NEW: The "HIDE" feature is coming soon!
Note: If you record a video meeting, captions are not recorded and don't appear when you play the recording. New languages are coming soon! A copy of the chat will appear in your Google Drive with your recording.
Great for scheduling meetings with parents and guardians for conferences
Meet is fully integrated with G Suite, so you can join meetings directly from a Calendar event or email invite. All of the important event details are right there when you need them, whether you’re joining from a computer, phone, or conference room.
It may be of help to you or your students to download your closed captioning text in Google Meet. The Tactiq extension can assist you with this.
