We are committed to the establishment of a district-wide vision of technology integration. Our goal is to assist our educators as they integrate digital literacy into instruction to support student learning, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking, using current, research-based instructional practices.
Oregon Trail, Verne Duncan and Sunnyside NCSD K-2 Digital Literacy Cadre members (Linda Watzig, Sue Mobley, Melissa McEwan, Kristin Blaine and Angela Nelson) sharing their knowledge with other staff members and applying their learning in a variety of ways back at their classrooms.
Teachers (Tamara Ireland, Amber Hatchell, Stephenie Rhea, Beth Lawrence, Megan Erb, Jill McMurtrey, Mo Wear, Lyndsay Finn and Michelle Priem) from our NCSD K-2 Digital Literacy Cadre and Scouters Mountain, Sojourner, Oregon Trail, Mount Scott and Riverside Elementary schools, expand their abilities to meet their students needs using digital tools and strategies.

Kindergarten teacher Angela Nelson and Digital Literacy TOSA Amy Gertenrich-Dwyer work collaboratively in stages to move students from learning how to navigate the iPad in small learning groups, to teaching their classmates, to later applying the SeeSaw App with the entire class to illustrate their math learning & discourse.

1st graders CAN do so much! North Clackamas Elementary Digital Learning Cadre member's (Elaine Gilmour, Lot Whitcomb Elementary) integrates Chromebooks to enhance her students' research on penguins. Small group instruction leads to the students learning, then finding a new partners to teach processes and skills via Google Classroom and Google Slides.
Milwaukie High School English Teacher Heidi Pullen increases student engagement, support and comprehension integrating Chromebooks with EdPuzzle (a video annotation/comprehension and assessment tool).
Alder Creek Middle School math teacher, Tracy Fischer pilots a new digital resource that enables her to be "untethered" from her laptop and projector. Students become actively engaged and participate in the learning process using a "casting" application that displays her iPad as she moves around her room.
