Gmail has the capability to make phone calls.
When you call an individual, they will NOT see who the caller is. It is important to let people you are calling know that an "unidentified" caller may display on their phones.
This is a free resource for our NCSD staff.
What is not noted in this tutorial (because it was new to us too :) is that when you use it for the first time, it asks you to enter a phone number. You can enter your personal cell number or your work number. It will not ask you for this again. Once you have entered this, you are good to go. You can make local or long distance calls (within the US) for free, directly from your computer. You cannot receive calls through this method.
