Connecting your *PERSONAL CHROMEBOOK* to WIFI

Option #1

  • Open your charged Chromebook

  • Once it is turned on, you can click in the WIFI icon in the lower right hand corner to show WIFI settings.

    • You will see the available networks. Click on yours and enter your WIFI password.

Option #2

  • Open your charged Chromebook

  • Once it is turned on, it will scan nearby WIFI connections.

  • Click on your WIFI network and enter your WIFI password.

Getting login usernames and passwords to access NCSD online learning resources

Getting your login credentials (username and passwords) for student access to online learning resources

Students should have received a unique student username & password. If you do not have this information, please contact their teacher.

Teachers have websites with their contact information at each school. Navigate to:

      • NCSD's website, and select the pertinent school.

      • Select Staff and the Teacher Websites options.

If you can not find your teacher's website, please call the school directly.

Logging into your *PERSONAL CHROMEBOOK* to access NCSD learning resources

You CAN use PERSONAL Chromebooks to access learning resources and login to Classlink.

HOW?

  1. Login to your personal Chromebook with your student's NCSD username and password.

    • IMPORTANT: you MUST add the @nclack.org extension to their username (see photo) if you use personal devices (not a NCSD Chromebook)

  2. Navigate to NCSD's website and hover over the Students tab. Click on the first option, Classlink.

    • You may want to save or "Bookmark/Favorite" this site for easy access later.

  3. Login with your student NCSD username and password (or younger students might have QR codes they can scan to login). Do NOT include @nclack.org in their username field.

  4. Once you are logged into NCSD Classlink, there may be a message to read before continuing to the learning resources.

  5. Be sure to sign out of the Chromebook when finished to ensure privacy.

How students login to access NCSD learning resources using a *PERSONAL computer or laptop*

You CAN use personal devices to access learning resources and login to Classlink.

For Desktop Devices : HOW?

  1. Classlink is available on the web using most standard browsers, we do recommend using the Chrome browser, however. You can find downloads on this website.

  2. Navigate to NCSD's website and hover over the Students tab. Click on the first option, Classlink.

    • You may want to save or "Bookmark/Favorite" this site for easy access later.

  3. Login with your student NCSD username and password (or younger students might have QR codes they can scan to login). Do NOT include @nclack.org in their username field.

  4. Once you are logged into NCSD Classlink, there may be a message to read before continuing to the learning resources.

  5. Be sure to sign out of the device when finished to ensure privacy.

How students login to NCSD learning resources WITHOUT a NCSD Chromebook (using other personal devices)

Classlink is the landing page students see when they first login to a NCSD Chromebook, but can also be accessed online via a our NCSD Classlink website if you are using a personal device like a laptop or desktop computer.

Logging into ClassLink with other *PERSONAL tablets/cell phones*

You CAN use personal devices to access learning resources and login to Classlink using the ClassLink Launchpad app found in either the Apple or Play Store.

ClassLink iOS cell phones/iPads App.

    1. Click here for the App.

    2. Choose your organization/North Clackamas SD from the list (the app will remember your selection on future launches)

    3. Enter your child's credentials (username and password).

    4. Be sure to sign out of the device when finished to ensure privacy.

ClassLink Android devices

  1. Click here for the App.

  2. Choose your organization/North Clackamas SD from the list (the app will remember your selection on future launches)

  3. Enter your child's credentials (username and password).

Keep your Chromebooks charged and ready to go!

To avoid compromising your battery life, please keep your chromebook charged at all times. Allowing the device to sit uncharged may deem it unrecoverable.

Battery life varies with each model and the activities they will be engaged in. To ensure use, either fully charge your Chromebook after each day of use or have it plugged into an power outlet directly.

Offline Setup

1. Make sure you’re connected to the internet.2. Open Google Docs.3. Open the menu. Select Settings.4. Toggle the switch that says Offline. Then select “Ok.” 5. Files on Google Drive can be edited offline, and will update once you’re back online.

How to clear the cache on your Chromebook

1. Open the Chrome browser.

2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen, hover over "More Tools" and then select "Clear browsing data"

3. Select the cache you'd like to delete and click Clear data. Devon Delfino/Business Insider

4. Click "Clear data."

If you toggle over to the "Advanced" section of the "Clear browsing data" window, you will also have the option to clear passwords and other sign-in data, autofill form data, site settings and hosted app data.
