Our students use NCSD Chromebooks to access digital learning resources, unless they have a specific course that requires otherwise. There are several benefits:
We can manage the interface (push out certain resources)
The battery life is long (anywhere from 7-10 hours, depending on the model and use)
We apply security filters.
Students use their NCSD login credentials. Your child will be (or already has) a provided secure login and password that is unique to them. Check with his/her teacher to obtain this private information OR ask them to add you as a parent via email!
For our younger learners (K/1), teachers may opt to use a QR code to login.
If you have more than one child, it is possible that they may have different models of Chromebooks and that is ok. Although there might be cosmetic and other small differences, they all work essentially the same.
Ensuring that every student has a learning device, NCSD is providing Chromebooks for checkout.
Instead, please contact us at our Family Help Desk to request a Chromebook or hot spot

To avoid compromising your battery life, please keep your chromebook charged at all times. Allowing the device to sit uncharged may deem it unrecoverable.
Battery life varies with each model and the activities they will be engaged in. To ensure use, either fully charge your Chromebook after each day of use or have it plugged into an power outlet directly.
Students from kindergarten through fifth grade levels do NOT have access to Gmail/email even though their accounts look like an email address. Only middle and high schools students (6-12 only) have access to their email.
