Benefit Enrollment/Termination Information
Contracted employees working 25 hours or more a week are entitled to participate in the North Brunswick Township Board of Education's Health Benefit Plan.
Benefit eligible employees have thirty days from their start date to either enroll or waive benefits.
Eligible dependents that you may add to your insurance include:
A biological, step, adopted, or foster child(ren) under the age of 26 for medical/prescription
A biological, step, adopted, or foster, child(ren) under the age of 23 for dental
Spouse through legal marriage, or same sex partners that have a Certificate of Domestic Partnership that was granted prior to February 19, 2007
If there has been a qualifying event impacting your benefits status, such as loss of coverage, marriage, birth of child, etc. you have thirty days to contact our benefits department to process this change.
The Enrollment/Termination Form must be completed and submitted along with copies of a marriage license and/or children's birth certificates if applicable.
Medical and Dental Plan Documents
For those hired and eligible for benefits before July 1, 2020: You have the option to pick between the Chapter 78 Aetna, New Jersey Educators Health Plan (NJEHP), or the Garden State medical and prescription plans.
For those hired after July 1, 2020: You can enroll in the New Jersey Educators Health Plan (NJEHP) or the Garden State medical and prescription plan.
Please Note: The Garden State plan is a New Jersey based plan only. This means that providers outside of the State of New Jersey are not covered. If you see a provider outside of New Jersey for any other reason than a medical or accidental emergency it will be denied.
One plan is available for dental coverage for all employees through Delta Dental.
One plan is available for vision coverage for all employees. This coverage is through VSP. This is a voluntary vision plan that is fully employee funded, with no associated costs to the board. Once enrolled, you must remain on the plan for a minimum of 12 months. The enrollment/term form is separate and linked here.
Employee payroll deductions are based on the chosen plan. If you are interested in enrolling in our plans and would like a cost breakdown, please reach out to our benefits department.

Wellness Program
Effective October 1, 2022, all employees and dependents over 18 enrolled in the medical coverage plan will be eligible to receive a $20 fitness incentive through ActiveFit+.
To enroll, simply visit their website and enter your Aetna Insurance ID, date of birth, and last name to complete the registration.

Flexible Spending Plan
The FSA helps you manage out-of-pocket costs for health care and work-related dependent care and lowers your federal taxable income by setting aside FSA dollars before they are taxed.
