Inclusive Adolescence Education Program
The Inclusive Adolescence Education program (Grades 7-12) prepares students to apply for teacher certification in both a content area and students with disabilities for the Adolescence level. Students can choose one of the following academic subjects to major in: Biology, Chemistry, English, Foreign Languages (including Chinese, French, Italian and Spanish), Mathematics, Theatre/English, and Social Studies.
Inclusive Early Childhood/Childhood Education Major
The Inclusive Early Childhood/Childhood Education major (Birth-6th grade) prepares students to apply for four different teacher certifications in general education and students with disabilities education. It is a double major, where students major in education and can choose from a variety of liberal arts and sciences majors.
ACCESS Secondary Education Program
Adolescence Certification for Career Change Emphasizing Secondary Schools (ACCESS) prepares students to teach at the middle/junior/senior high school level, if they already have a graduate degree and a strong background in a secondary teaching content area.

There are four different graduate programs in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) that lead to certification:
Inclusive Childhood Education-Initial Certification (gr. 1-6 general and special education)
Inclusive Childhood Education-Changing Developmental Level
Inclusive Childhood Education-Same Developmental Level
Inclusive Childhood Education-Professional Certification
Inclusive Early Childhood Education - General and Special Education
There are three different graduate programs that lead to certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-2nd grade):
Inclusive Early Childhood Education-Initial Certification (Birth -grade 2)
Inclusive Early Childhood Education-Changing Developmental Level
Inclusive Early Childhood Education-Same Developmental Level
Education, Inclusive Childhood/Early Childhood for International Students (No NYS Certification)
This program provides teacher preparation in inclusive childhood or inclusive early childhood education through coursework and authentic field experiences for international students. It does not lead to certification.
The Literacy program is for students who are already initially certified as a teacher and are looking to be certified as a literacy specialist. There are two developmental levels to choose from:
Literacy Specialist Program (Pre-K - Grade 12)
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
There are two Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programs that lead to certification. There is also a program for international students and native speakers of English who wish to earn a master’s degree in TESOL, but not NYS certification:

TESOL with Additional Certification
TESOL without NYS Certification
The School of Education also offers a variety of graduate-level extensions, annotations, and specializations that can be combined with any master’s degree program.
