Allow Multiple Submissions to Moodle Assignment

This setting allows the instructor to collect multiple submissions over time within the same assignment. Instructors can provide PDF annotation feedback with each submission.

Note: Upon submission of an additional file, all prior annotations are cleared and a new PDF will combine all file submissions.

Step 1: Click turn editing on. 

Step 2: Locate the topic section (or week) in which the content will be located and click +Add an activity or resource 

Step 3: In the pop-up menu, select Assignment. 

Step 4: Enter a title in the Assignment name field.

Step 5: If desired, enter text in the Description field.

Step 6: Set the availability of the assignment.

Step 7: Expand the submission settings and select manually under the attempts reopened option. 

Step 8: Set the number of attempts.

Step 9: Set other settings as desired, and save and display.

Step 10: Once students have submitted their first file submission, grade/annotate using the annotate pdf grading.

Step 11: In the right-hand panel of the grading interface, scroll down to the Attempt setting to allow another submission by setting allow another attempt to yes.



Grading Multiple Submissions

Once another attempt has been submitted, the newest submission is viewable within the Annotate PDF grading interface. To view previous attempts, click view a different attempt, which is found under the grading/comment panel.
