The SSS NJROTC Overall STEM team commander is ENS Tiffany Fraire and assistant SCPO Ana Cano
Their roles have expanded to include electronic attack, drone strikes, suppression or destruction of enemy air defense, network node or communications relay, and combat search and rescue. They also now use them for cargo.
Cadets on the drone team will use coordination to fly through obstacle courses and also compete and blind guide courses.

AWARDS for STEM teams
S.T.E.M. : Awarded, WHEN EARNED, to each Cadet who competes in any S.T.E.M. related event or competition to include but not limited to Drone, Sea Perch, Cyber Robotics, or Rocketry. Not to be awarded for multi- or intra-service competitions.
Drone Wings : Cadets who have passed the FAA Section 107 Drone Pilot Certification Exam are authorized to wear the Drone Pilot Wings on their uniform.
