All Cadets should be familiar with the Cadet Field Manual 11th edition (revised) and the Cadet Reference Manual 3rd edition.
Cadets should pay particular attention to the sections noted below to excel at BLT and LA.
LA cadets may be tested on their knowledge of these sections when they arrive. They will be expected to perform to these standards throughout the camp.
GA cadets should be experts ready to teach the sections below.

All cadets must know how to drill per the Cadet Field Manual. "How we do it at our school" is not correct if it is different than the CFM.
DM chapter 5 - BLT will learn manual of the guidon.
DM chapter 4 - LA will learn sword drill.
There will be an unarmed basic drill, armed basic drill, and color guard competition for highly qualified cadets who perform to the Cadet Field Manual standards. Males and females will be expected to compete. The winning color guard will perform at the graduation ceremony.
DM chapter 8 - Review forming the platoon.
BLT are expected to know forming the platoon by mustering petty officer.
LA cadets are expected to know forming the platoon by officers.
DM chapter 9 - GA cadets are expected to know forming the company.
Appendix A - GA cadets trying out for graduation battalion and regimental staff positions should know the Sample Pass in Review section.

Cadets should take note of the NEW proper terminology in the Cadet Field Manual 3rd Ed. Titles are no longer all "the Honorable."
