In order to fund the iPads for the Fine Arts project, we are applying for the $50,000 grant through the Technology Innovation Grant. This project meets the criteria to to receive this grant because, as seen in the rest of the website, the money has been clearly budgeted to be used to purchase iPads and corresponding software that increases technology integration in the district, we have a shared vision of how to use the technology, we have a plan that seamlessly integrates the technology into the existing standards, and allows students to engage in constructivist learning practices such as working with a group to create costumes for a school play and practicing music theory by writing a trombone solo in the key of B flat.
While we firmly believe that our proposal meets all the criteria for the Technology Innovation Grant, we also are prepared to apply to other sources of funding to ensure that the students of Leavenworth High School receive the technology which will enhance their engagement in the fine arts. These options include...
National Endowment for the Arts- Provides underfunded fine arts programs with grants ranging between $10,000 and $100,000 based on need https://www.arts.gov/grants
US Department of Education Assistance for Arts Education (AAE) Programs- Provides federal grants to arts programs in elementary and high schools. Grants here range anywhere from $10,000 all the way to $6,000,000. Our project could potentially qualify because we are in a public school and the money would only be spent on arts programs.
Grants to USA Nonprofits for Projects to Reduce Greenhouse Gases and Overall Air Pollution- Because integrating iPads into arts class would greatly reduce the need for paper and ink in classrooms, this project would qualify for one of the grants. https://arizona.grantwatch.com/grant/210132/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-for-projects-to-reduce-greenhouse-gases-and-overall-air-pollution.html
