Curricular Programs

For Band: Having an iPad will impact the day to day operations in multiple ways. First, it will allow teachers to scan sheet music into google drive and share it with students so they can access it on the iPad during class, saving thousands of sheets of paper per year. Secondly, the iWrite application will allow for students to collaborate by sharing music pages they have created with staff and other students. The iWrite Program also provides assistance for beginner students trying to learn how to read music note lengths or what key or fingering it indicates. During the two days of training, the band teacher will first be taught how to use the iPads and potential ways students will misuse them and then be taught how to scan and upload sheet music to google drive, share it with students, and integrate the iWrite program into class to allow students to be creative and learn through creating music. 

For Theater: Like band, integrating iPads into Theater classes will have a time and paper saving function and also a create design function. For the practical function, the iPads will facilitate distribution of roles and lines for the Fall and Spring Leavenworth Musical, which will all be done through the Rehearsal Pro app. This app also allows for actors to easily memorize their lines through voice playback and hand motion recognition. While the actors will utilize the Rehearsal Pro application to learn lines and position on the set, the behind the scenes costume designers can use the ProCreate application to collaborate on designing costumes for the actors. During training the theater teacher will begin by learning the basic function of an iPad and will then receive assistance on how to upload the musical to Rehearsal Pro, as well as instructions on how to teach students to use it to memorize their lines. Also, they will learn how to use ProCreate to be able to teach students how to use it to design sets and costumes.
