Who are the student support staff?
The Natick High School Support staff are comprised of school psychologists, social workers, and adjustment counselors who provide emotional support to students in a variety of settings within the high school. The support staff see students in the general and special education population for individual counseling support and crisis counseling when needed. Some of our support staff are designated to specific social-emotional programs within the high school. Deanna Kanavas-DeRocher, Ed.S., LMHC, School Psychologist, NHS Lead Student Support Staff

As a school psychologist, Deanna provides individual counseling for students, consultation with families, school staff and outside providers. She provides crisis intervention and seeks out resources for students and families. Deanna also administers psychological evaluations. She oversees the support staff at the high school and consults on various school-based teams.
Julia Dillon, M.A., PACE Program Coordinator

As the PACE Program Coordinator, Julia provides case coordination, individual counseling and consultation for students enrolled in the PACE Program. Julia also provides clinical support and crisis intervention as needed in the general and special education settings.

Nicolle Fitzpatrick, M.A., LMHC, School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor, Compass Program

As a school social worker, Nicolle provides counseling services to students within the general and special education settings. She also provides crisis intervention and consultation for staff regarding student mental health concerns. Nicolle helps students and families locate appropriate resources and programs in and outside the Natick community.
Andrea Geller, LCSW, School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor

As a school social worker, Andrea provides counseling services to students within the general and special education settings. Andrea meets with students on a scheduled and as needed basis, and provides crisis intervention. Andrea connects with the community to identify resources and links families to the appropriate services.
Annette Ziegler, M.Ed., School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor, North Star Program

As a school social worker, Ms. Ziegler provides clinical support services to North Star and mainstream students on her caseload. Ms. Ziegler provides students on her caseload with counseling on a regular basis, as needed, crisis management and resources. She also provides consultation and support for staff members.

Natick High School Game Changers, in partnership with Northeastern University and Voices Against Violence is a student leadership group that will be trained by members of the Northeastern University Center for Sport and Society, as well as NHS staff, commit to promote healthy relationships, work to prevent all forms of relationship violence, as well sexual harassment and assault. Students will be trained and asked to inspire leadership, raise awareness, have open dialogue, and to challenge thinking around appropriate relationships. By applying and committing to this program, students will be expected to attend all training, lead discussions, commit to time on early release days and a Saturday training. Students will need to submit an application and be accepted due to the limited training spots that are available.

The Gender & Sexuality Alliance works to promote diversity and celebration of differences in our school and community. As members we dedicate time to go on field trips to conferences, movies, plays, other schools' GSA events, etc. We provide resources and materials to the school to promote diversity. We have LGBTQIA+ related discussions, work on projects, and support one another in a nonjudgmental environment. EVERYONE IS ALWAYS WELCOME. Peer Advocates are student leaders working towards making a difference in our school and our Natick Community. Our goal is to continue to make Natick High School a safe place where all students feel comfortable being themselves and expressing all aspects of their identities. We work towards building respect for all members of the community through education, activism, and meaningful conversations in which we can all learn from one another's experiences.
