Procedure for Course Selection:
Counselors will visit English classrooms to review course selection procedures with students starting in January.
Students will select classes on-line. Students may meet with their counselor individually for assistance as needed and review the Program of Studies for more information about course offerings.
ALL 1st year Vo-tech students need to complete a Vo-tech application and submit this online. Use the button below to access the application.
For electives, students are encouraged to choose alternates as a back-ups to their first choice courses.
Incoming 12th grade students interested in Dual Enrollment or the Medical Academy at BAVTS should check the appropriate box on the course selection form. Students will then be invited to information sessions about those programs in the Spring.
When students receive their schedule in summer, they are encouraged to review their courses and contact the guidance office immediately if any major courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) are missing. There will be specified dates and times for changes prior to the start of the school year.
***All attempts will be made to accommodate student course requests. However, scheduling may not permit all requests made by the student. Alternative selections from the course selection sheet will be used if an initial course can not be accommodated in the student's schedule.
Every attempt is made to accommodate each student's request of courses for their schedule. However, there are times when every selection can not be accommodated due to either the number of available sections in a given course or the periods offering those courses conflicting with other chosen selections.
Students are strongly encouraged to address schedule changes as per the instructions sent with the schedule. No schedule change requests will be processed after the deadline date that is listed. Schedule change requests will be addressed in the order in which the requests were received.
The following requests to drop/add a course will be honored (as long as the master schedule can facilitate the change):
Computer or clerical error
Period missing from schedule
Core subject missing from schedule (Math, Science, English, Social Studies)
A course that was made up during summer school
Lunch missing from schedule
Transfer to a more challenging course
Change in Vo-tech as approved by both the vo-tech and home school
Requests that will not be honored include:
Change in teacher
lunch (move to another period)
PE class
Not meeting a pre-requisite for a course
