A clean-up drive was conducted at 9:00 a.m. near the reservoir in Barangay Tubigon, bringing together PULWAT employees, Maramag fisherfolks, Indigenous Peoples, and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Tubigon. The activity aimed to promote environmental protection and safeguard the condition of the reservoir, which plays a vital role in supporting local livelihoods.
The BLGU led the clean-up route, with participants collecting rubbish along the designated areas and placing the waste into assigned sacks. After the activity, the collected solid waste was properly segregated, weighed, and deposited at the designated pick-up location for appropriate disposal.
Among the most common items gathered during the clean-up were food wrappers, plastic materials, and scrap metal. The strong participation of the community and partner agencies reflected a shared commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment. The activity also raised awareness on proper waste management and recycling while strengthening collaboration to protect communal spaces and prevent further siltation and pollution of the reservoir.
