Please make sure your child is reading a minimum of 20 minutes a night at home.
Reading at home transforms literacy from a classroom requirement into a natural, lifelong habit. Just 20 minutes of daily home reading exposes readers—especially kids—to nearly two million words a year, drastically expanding vocabulary, boosting focus, and sharpening critical thinking. Beyond academic gains, reading at home offers a quiet refuge to build empathy, spark imagination, and create meaningful, low-stress family connections away from screens.
