Course Selection Process:
Students will be placed in academic core classes based on assessment data and grades. Students will have an opportunity to request a change in selected courses in the months of April or May. More information will be sent via email. Students will be required to request their desired electives on the required Google Form. The Course Selection Google Form will open on TBD. NOTE: The WSHS Pre-IB Magnet Program is an annual commitment of at least 1 year. Families decide each year if they would like to continue with the IB Program, but mid-year exits are not permitted per School Board Statute.

January 27th: “Bear Necessities” Curriculum Night
●Come Check us out at WSHS to meet our awesome students and counselors. Student Involvement is highly prioritized at WSHS. See our activities! Hear from our students!
January 23rd & January 26th & February 4th : Counselor Middle School Visits
●WSHS School Counselors will visit Milwee Middle School (23rd), South Seminole Middle School (26th), and Indian Trails Middle School (4th). All middle school counselors in Seminole County will be sent our Registration link. Course Requests due by Feb 27th.
January 27th: The Pre-IB Registration Link will open. Also, around this time is when you will be hearing back from the SAPA Department via email about your Application Submitted.
Be sure to SAVE YOUR SEAT with SAPA if you intend to join us next year!
February 10th: 8th grade Field Trip to WSHS Campus (Students ONLY).
●Our feeder middle schools will get to experience a half a day on the WSHS High School campus. Student performances & tours will be conducted by WSHS current students. (Private school students must email Mr. Gaffney for permission to attend but are welcome! MUST REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME & check in the front office.)
February 27th: WSHS Pre-IB Course Selections due via Google Form.
NOW-JUNE: SCPS Enrollment & Magnet Bus Info
●Mrs. Waldo, our Student Services Secretary, will email you for all WSHS enrollment paperwork & bus transportation requests. Call Mrs. Waldo at 407-320 -8893 for enrollment info.
Mid-July: Bus Transportation Routes will be made available by the SCPS Transportation Department
Early August: Bear Bash & Schedule/Schedule Changes
●Schedules will go live on skyward during the week before school starts. The Schedule Change Link will be sent out by Mr. Gaffney via email. The Welcome to WSHS Event, “Bear Bash” will be happening on WSHS Campus the week before school starts. Students will receive their schedule online & be able to meet club officers and get involved. Counselors will NOT be available at the Bear Bash event. However, you can submit a schedule change via the Schedule Change Request Google Form. Your request will be processed in the order it was received.
●Counselors will be available during the academic school year school by appointment only. Appointments can be made on the WSHS website via the Microsoft “Bookings” Calendar.
