Attendance

Please refer to our district guidelines regarding any absence due to COVID-19 related illness.

If a student will be absent, please call our school attendance hotline each day that the student is absent. 949-770-1415.

Absent and late work

Students are always able to make up Absent and Late work, however it is the responsibility of the student to make sure they get all work they missed. You can check our website for past weeks work. Look in Google Classroom to see if assignments were submitted.

Assignment scores can be checked through the Parent Portal or Student Portal (Aeries) and assignments are scored using Standards Based Grading rubrics.

If you know of an upcoming absence, please let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to make sure your student has everything they need.

Grading

We will be using Standards Based grading this year. Assignments are graded on a 4 point scale. You can use the simple definitions below to help you understand scoring.

4 - Exceeding the Standard

3 - Meeting the Standard

2 - Approaching the Standard

1 - Does Not Meet the Standard

It's important to remember that we are looking at progress toward specific standards over time. It is common for a student to start the year at a 2 and progress to a 3 or 4 by the end of the trimester or end of the year.
