Author's Bio

Brad Weiner, M.Ed., CAPE, NBCT; named the 2013 national adapted physical education teacher of the year has served the field since 2004. He received his Master degree in adapted physical education from the State University of New York’s Cortland College. He holds national certifications in Early and Middle Childhood Physical Education through the National Board Professional Teaching Standards, Inc. (NBPTS) and in Adapted Physical Education through the Adapted Physical Education National Standards (APENS). Brad is certified in Special Education and Administration.
He has held numerous board positions as the Secretary and Vice President for the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID), the Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE) America’s Chair for the adapted physical education special interest group, President of the Maryland Adapted Physical Education Consortium (MAPEC), and Executive Director for Camp Abilities Maryland.
Brad is located in Maryland where he teaches in the public school system and has written numerous curriculum and assessment documents. He is the author of the Physical Activity Profile of Independence for Individuals with Severe and Profound Impairments (PAPI-ISAPI), the Sensory Processing Assessment of Responses (SPAR), and the Early Childhood Assessment of Physical Education Skills (ECAPES).
