Assalamu Alaikum dear students,

Welcome to a new semester of Computer Science – ICS4U! I am honored to be your teacher this year and excited to guide you on this journey of learning and discovery.

This course will challenge you to think deeply, solve problems creatively, and work both independently and as a team. We will study advanced programming concepts using Java, learn modular and object-oriented programming, explore data structures and algorithms, and apply software development processes to real-world projects. Along the way, we will also reflect on ethical computing practices, environmental responsibility, and the impact of emerging technologies on society.

As Muslims, we are reminded of the great value of seeking knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

Let us approach this course with sincerity, patience, and dedication. Just as we strive for excellence in our faith and character, let us also strive for excellence (ihsan) in our studies.
