Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
My name is Ms. Najah Aboazom, and I am honoured to be teaching Computer Studies this academic year at Ottawa Islamic School. With a deep passion for both education and technology, I strive to guide students in becoming innovative, ethical, and responsible digital citizens who can confidently navigate the modern digital world, while grounding our learning in Islamic values.
This year, I will be teaching the following courses:
This introductory course explores the fundamentals of computers and digital systems, including hardware, software, networking, programming in Python, and the impact of technology on society. Students will develop essential digital literacy and coding skills through engaging hands-on activities.
In this course, students will deepen their understanding of computer science principles, focusing on structured programming using Java, algorithms, problem-solving, and software development. This course prepares students for university-level computer science and related STEM fields.
This advanced course builds on the ICS3U foundation. Students will design and implement complex software solutions using Java, explore object-oriented programming, data structures, recursion, and software engineering practices. This course is ideal for students pursuing future studies or careers in software engineering, AI, cybersecurity, or data science.
I am committed to providing a supportive learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking flourish, while always maintaining an Islamic perspective on how technology should serve humanity ethically and responsibly.
