First Grade

Welcome to First Grade at Summit Elementary!

We’re so excited to begin a new year of learning, exploration, and growth together. First grade is a special time when children become more confident readers, writers, problem-solvers, and friends. Our classrooms are a place where curiosity is encouraged, kindness is practiced, and every child’s unique talents are celebrated.

Throughout the year, students will build strong foundations in literacy and math, explore the world through hands-on science and social studies. With the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids, we also focus on developing important social and emotional skills—helping students learn to work together, take responsibility, and care for themselves and others.

We look forward to partnering with families to make this a wonderful year of discovery and success.
