All middle school athletes (Grades 6-8) are expected to maintain passing grades in all of their classes to remain academically eligible. The following guidelines will be followed by teachers, students, and administration.
All middle school athletes are expected to obey any and all rules regarding drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and other items as set forth by Minot Public Schools and the NDHSAA. Any athlete caught with these items will be suspended from all athletics and activities as stated in the guidelines.
Article XIII - Section XII from the North Dakota High School Activities Association Constitution and By-Laws: Use or possession of tobacco, alcohol, or any controlled substance as defined by North Dakota Law is prohibited. Any extra-curricular participant who is in violation of the foregoing shall be suspended from participation who is in violation of the foregoing shall be suspended from participation in the activity for a minimum of six weeks for the first offense, and a period of eighteen consecutive weeks for any subsequent offense. All activities and clubs are subject to these rules.
Any athlete serving in or out of school suspension WILL NOT be allowed to practice or participate in any game or activity on that school day. This pertains to both in and out of town activities.
